Christians Proselytizing Christians
Admit it. All of you are aware of the missionaries (Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses being more well-known). I saw the Mormon missionaries trying to convert this guy on the street. Where I live, more than 80% of the population is Christian. Here is what I want to know: Why are Christians trying to convert other Christians to their beliefs? There is no point in trying to convert, for example, Baptists to Catholicism. I thought the point of Christian missions was to get people to find Jesus.
I’m not a big fan proselytizing, so I don’t even see the point in converting people from Judaism or Islam to Christianity. I’m more interested in what others believe than what I want them to believe. Before I get off topic, when we go on these missions to convert people to one religion or another, why are we going after people who already believe in a higher power? If we are going to proselytize, we need to proselytize to people who have lost hope, or don’t believe in a higher power. Those are the people who need to be converted to a faith.
To reiterate: stop trying to convert people to your denomination. It doesn’t make sense for you to try and convert someone to the same umbrella of faith as you. Feel free to share your beliefs, but don’t be forceful about.
